Bogaevsky Konstantin Fedorovich

Bogaevsky Konstantin Fedorovich (1872-1943) - Russian landscape painter of the Silver Age. He synthesized the traditions of symbolism, the art of the Quattrocento and the heroic landscape of the 17th century. The pivotal theme of his work is ancient Cimmeria, with its majestic mountains, folds of hills, ancient cities and the dazzling sun that floods the landscape. He lived and worked in Feodosia. He studied under Fessler, Aivazovsky. He entered the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, studied from 1891 to 1895 in the workshop of Arkhip Kuindzhi. In the years 1911-1914 he participated in the exhibitions of the World of Art. In 1933 he received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
