Basnina-Verkholantseva Anna Nikolaevna (July 20 (August 1), 1879 (Moscow) - 1947 (Vesegonsk, Kalinin Region)) - graphic artist, painter, artist of decorative and applied art. Granddaughter of a collector, merchant, Irkutsk city mayor V.N. Basnin, daughter of a lawyer and collector N.V. Basnin; mother of the artist and teacher N.V. Verkholantseva, grandmother of the engraver M.M. Verkholantsev.
She studied at the Central Stroganov School of Technical Drawing (1897–1903) with F.O. Shekhtel, S.V. Noakovsky, S.V. Ivanov, N.N. Sobolev, and graduated with the title of scientific draftsman. She lived in Moscow. She worked at the Institute for Club Work with Children of People's Commissars of the RSFSR. In the 1900-10s she performed sketches for stained-glass windows (lanterns, lamps). She painted still lifes, landscapes, portraits. She was engaged in the design of children's puppet shows.
Since 1909 - participant of exhibitions («Art in the Life of a Child» in St. Petersburg). Member and exhibitor of the Union of Artists and the Artistic Industry (1919). She participated in exhibitions: «Artists - To Comrade Warriors» (1914) in Moscow. The works were exhibited at the 8th exhibition of paintings and drawings by artists and teachers in Moscow (1954).
In 1937, after the execution of her son-in-law, M.O. Zyuk, together with her daughter and grandson, was expelled to the village of Vesyegonsk, Kalinin Region.
Creativity is represented in a number of museum collections, among them - the Pushkin Museum to them.
