Galakhov Leonid Ivanovich (1925-2011) — painter, Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1970). Born on April 7, 1925 in the village of Napolnoe, Saraevsky District, Ryazan Region. Member of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), disabled. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals «For Victory over Germany», jubilee medals, medal «Veteran of Labor». From 1944 to 1950 he studied at the Moscow art studio for invalids of the Great Patriotic War, the painting department, where he studied painting with Konstantin Fedorovich Yuon, I.I. Zakharova and K.F. Morozov. Member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1970. Since 1945 he began to participate in art exhibitions. Participant of many regional, republican and all-union exhibitions in the former USSR. Works in the genres of subject composition, landscape. The main theme of the artist's work is lyrical landscapes and subjects on a military theme. The artist's paintings are in art museums in Votkinsk, Chelyabinsk and in private collections in Russia, USA, Germany, Turkey. Lived and worked in the city of Khimki, Moscow region.
