Kulikov Valery Nikolaevich (1937) - graphic artist, teacher. Born in the town of Opochka, Pskov region on December 10, 1937. In 1979 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute. I. E. Repin, workshop of E. E. Moiseenko (1972-1979). Thesis in the All-Russian Academy of Arts - «Overnight. Chauffeurs». The training took place at the Faculty of Painting, was awarded the qualification of an artist-painter, teacher.
The works of V.N.Kulikov are mainly executed with black fat pencil, which does not imply any correction, corrections, intrusion into the creative process of scraping or erasing devices. And therefore, the chosen technique requires from the artist the firmness of the hand, a premeditated composition. Each artist has his own special passions, objects of worship, time-established authorities in the art world, it is almost impossible to avoid the influence of which (their power and temptation is too great). For Valery Nikolaevich, this is Renato Guttuso (to a greater extent) and less often Pablo Picasso. The stylistic messages of the generally recognized giants, like «signal bells» or «warning icons», constantly make themselves felt.
