Popov Boris Andreevich (1937-2001) - Soviet graphic artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Boris Andreevich was born on February 4, 1937 in Moscow. In 1956 he graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Institute. V.I.Surikov, and in 1962 - the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. The beginning of creative work in 1962. He worked in book illustration. His works are distinguished by thoughtfulness, artistic culture, knowledge of printing. The illustrations for A. Chekhov's stories in etching technique attract with the simplicity of technical execution and the expressiveness of the characters. Member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR since 1975.
1962-1967 - worked in the publishing houses «Children's Encyclopedia», «Young Guard», «Soviet Writer». 1967-1969 - art editor at the Sredne-Uralskiy book publishing house (Sverdlovsk). 1969-1974 - works in the publishing houses «Young Guard», «Soviet Writer», «Sovremennik». 1974-1989 - art editor at the Sovremennik publishing house.
