Sheverdyaev Nikolai Alekseevich studied with the Moscow engraver V.A. Ermolov and in Sunday classes at the Stroganov Art and Industrial School in Moscow (1890-1895). In the late 1900s, he visited the drawing classes of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, the Central School of Technical Drawing of Baron Stieglitz (1898-1905), where he was engraving under the direction of V.V. Mate and etching under the direction of N.Z. Panov.
In the late 1900s, he worked as an assistant in engraving I.N. Pavlova. Since the 1920s, he taught at the Moscow Higher State Artistic and Technical Workshops, was the dean of the graphic faculty.
