Zubkov Gennady Gerasimovich, was born in Perm (travel to Leningrad) in 1940. He lives and works in St. Petersburg. The canvases of Gennady Zubkov are a rainbow universe, built on a comparison, interconnection, interpenetration of color worlds and spaces. The objects and forms depicted by the artist acquire a special luminous and floral pattern, sound clear, transparent voices in the overall complex and at the same time surprisingly harmonious chorale. These are rather not objects, but “ideas” of objects, their ideal and at the same time sharply characteristic images. Turning over the edge of visual perception, the artist, and behind him the viewer, penetrates the secrets of pictorial world-building, into an almost sacred space, where the mysterious life of forests and mountains, monastic towers and sunbeams, pot-bellied jugs and sea shells are performed. Reflections of heavenly light freeze on the outline of people, and trees stretch to the sky with their almond-shaped faces.
