Nikolai Nikolaevich Galakhov (born 1928) - Honored Artist of Russia, graphic artist, painter, master of Russian landscape. Nikolai Galakhov was born in Kazan. He received his initial art education at the Kazan Art School (1942-1947). In 1947 he entered the Institute. I.E. Repin, who graduated with honors in 1953 from the workshop of R.R. Franz. The artist tried his hand at various genres, turning to multi-figure thematic paintings, but his main direction remains the landscape. Along with paintings, the author has performed a number of graphic works of great artistic expression.
Traveling around Russia, the artist created many landscapes dedicated to the nature of Lake Baikal, Siberia, the Caucasus, the Volga. Since the 1960s, Nikolai Galakhov has been to Karelia almost every year - a favorite place of his creative inspiration. Hundreds of sketches, numerous sketches and sketches, which later turned into serious canvases, were painted in the small northern town of Kem and its environs. N.N. Galakhov's works are in the largest museums in Russia, including the Pskov Historical and Art Architectural Museum-Reserve, the Pavlodar Regional Art Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia, the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum, the Novgorod State United Museum-Reserve, the Krasnoyarsk Art Museum named after V.I.Surikov.
