Gulyaev Alexander Georgievich - Soviet painter, graphic artist. Was born in 1917 in the Altai Territory. Studied at the Tashkent Art School (1933-1937) under A. N. Volkov, M. I. Kurzin, V. P. Markova; Leningrad Institute of Painting, Architecture and Sculpture - Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin (1937–1941, 1944–1946) at the Faculty of Painting under A. E. Karev, I. P. Stepashkin, E. M. Cheptsov , M. D. Bernshtein, L. F. Ovsyannikova, A. A. Osmerkina. In 1946 he completed his thesis-painting «Minin and Pozharsky», which is kept in the Museum of the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg.

Lived in Leningrad, Samarkand (1944). He made creative business trips to Kazakhstan (1957), Crimea (1958). The author of thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes. In 1953, the painting «At the Direct Wire» was nominated for the Stalin (State) Prize.

Participant of exhibitions since 1940 (anniversary exhibition of the All-Russian Academy of Arts in Leningrad). Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists (Leningrad Union of Artists, since 1946). Participated in exhibitions: an art exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Red Army and the Navy in Samarkand (1943); All-Union art exhibitions in Moscow (1950, 1957); works of Leningrad artists (1951, 1956, 1958, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1971, 1975) and others.

Creativity is presented in a number of museum collections, among them are the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Museum of Political History of Russia in St. Petersburg, the Primorsky State Art Gallery in Vladivostok, the State Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, and the Pavlodar Regional Art Museum.
