Reyhet Petr Viktorovich

Reyhet Petr Viktorovich was born on November 10, 1953 in Odessa in the family of the outstanding artist Viktor Iosifovich Reyhet. In 1964-1971 he studied at the secondary art school at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin. He graduated from the Repin Institute in 1977 (workshop of V. M. Oreshnikov).

1979-1982 - creative workshop of V. M. Oreshnikov. Since 1976, he has taken part in more than 200 exhibitions in Russia, Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan. From 1976 to 1987, he participated in three Arctic expeditions (Franz Josef Land, Severnaya Zemlya, the North Pole-22 drifting station, Bennett Island). Since 1981, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Since 1984, a member of the Union of the Russian Geographical Society. In 1988, together with A. Timé organizes the art group “The Last Whale”. Winner of the Scandinavian Prize for 1991. Since 2002, a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia (IFA).

In 2010-2011, he participated in an expedition to the Antarctic at Bellingshausen Station (King George Island). On September 14, 2013, he died tragically as a result of an accident during his last expedition Yamal-Arctic 2013.
