The Samotlor oil field is the largest oil field in Russia and the 7th largest oil field in the world. Located in the Nizhnevartovsk region of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, in the vicinity of the cities of Nizhnevartovsk, Izluchinsk and Megion, in the area of Lake Samotlor.
